Vale of Rheidol Railway locomotive at Devil's Bridge

Vale of Rheidol Railway locomotive at Devil's Bridge - Railways
VoR locomotive "Prince of Wales" at the terminus at Devil's Bridge. This locomotive was built by the Great Western Railway after they took over this narrow-gauge line. Popular with tourists, it stayed open later than many Welsh narrow-gauge lines, and was taken over by British Railways in 1948. It was operated by British Rail right up until the 1980s, when it was privatised, becoming the last part of the national railway network to be operated by steam. Buy prints of this image here.
